    Outages

    How do I report a power outage?

    The TDSP is responsible for maintaining the electrical poles and wires and restoring power during power outages. Please contact your TDSP using the contact information above.

    Move and Account Information

    How do I transfer my SFE service to a new business address?

    Please call the Customer Care team to initiate the move. For Small Commercial customers, early termination fees will not apply if you are moving to a new business address. Proof of the relocation to your new address will need to be provided.

    Where can I find my SFE Account Number?

    Your SFE Account Number can be found on your SFE Energy online account, or on the top right corner of your bill.

    Where can I find my ESI ID?

    It can be found on the bill or you can log in to your SFE Energy online account to retrieve your ESI ID.

    Billing

    How am I billed?

    You will receive a bill from SFE Energy setting out your monthly charges. While you are a SFE customer, you will receive your monthly bill from us in the mail and/or by e-mail.

    What is included in the TDSP Delivery Charges? How are these Delivery Charges determined?

    The Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDSP) maintains and services the power lines for an entire region. TDSP Delivery Charges are what your local TDSP company charges each customer (ESI ID) for the cost of maintaining electricity poles & wires, meters, storm restoration, etc.

    What is the PUC Assessment?

    The PUC Assessment is a fee assessed by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). This fee covers the cost of the administration of the PUC Regulatory Act. It is equal to 1/6 of 1 (0.16667%) percent of the charges on your bill, excluding sales tax. You’ll see the PUC Assessment as a separate line item on your bill.

    Which credit or debit cards are accepted?

    Currently, we accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover as acceptable forms of payment. All debit cards are accepted. You can make payments or set up automated payments by logging into the SFE Customer Portal.

    If I mail a payment to the SFE billing address, when will the payment be credited to my account?

    It usually takes 3-5 business days from your payment to be credited to your account.

    How do I set up, change or cancel my bank account or credit card information for automatic payments?

    How do I sign up for AutoPay?

    Please log in to the SFE Customer Portal to update your bank account information. You can call one of our friendly Customer Care Representatives to sign up for AutoPay at 1-888-351-2169.

    What are the benefits of enrolling in AutoPay?

    AutoPay is fast, easy and convenient. You won’t have to worry about remembering to submit payment to SFE Energy on a monthly basis. Please log in to the SFE Customer Portal to enroll in AutoPay.

    How do I update my automatic payment option to another (i.e., changing from a credit card to a bank draft)?

    Please log in to the  SFE Customer Portal to update your bank account information.

    What if there are insufficient funds in my bank account to cover the payment?

    As per the Terms of Service, you will be charged $25.00 for having insufficient funds in your bank account to pay your bill and will be contacted immediately to remedy the matter.

    What if I can't pay my electricity bill right now?

    Contact our Customer Care team at 1-888-351-2169 if you anticipate having difficulty paying your bill by the due date. You may be eligible for a payment arrangement or a deferred payment plan.

    How do I request a payment arrangement or deferred payment plan?
